Cassell placed on home detention

COLUMBIA CITY — A man who has been in prison since the 1990s on drug charges will be placed on home detention until his release next year.

Rusty R. Cassell, 43, was sentenced in 1996 to the Indiana Department of Corrections for 20 years for dealing in a Schedule IV controlled-substance. He was given a 12-year sentence enhancement, served consecutively, for being a habitual felony offender.

Cassell’s other two felonies included possession of a handgun without a license in 1992 and a burglary charge in 1988.
