C.C. Vet wins Coaches Pitch baseball finals

COLUMBIA CITY â€” â€śThereâ€™s a reason they play the game.â€ť
That old-time phrase proved true Tuesday night at Morsches Park in Columbia Cityâ€™s Coaches Pitch Championship game.
Despite falling to the No. 1 seed, Trok & Krider, by an 11-4 score in the regular season, C.C. Veterinary Hospital (seeded third) pulled through for a 6-5 win to go home with the tournament title.
â€śWe knew it would be a tough game,â€ť Head Coach Cory Patrick said. â€śWeâ€™ve seen them play and theyâ€™re pretty solid.â€ť
C.C. Vet came out swinging â€” putting up four runs in the top of the first inning with the first four batters.
â€śThat was the way to start the game,â€ť Patrick said. â€śIt got the kids off on the right foot.
â€śWeâ€™ve always played better if weâ€™ve had a good start.â€ť
