CCHS: Calculus assignment goes viral

COLUMBIA CITY — In 10 years of Beth Scharpenberg’s final calculus projects, a parody three of her students turned in this week were at the top of her list.
“This is the best project I’ve ever had turned in,” Scharpenberg.
Apparently, a national news source, the Huffington Post, agrees.
Miranda Johnson, Celine Rongos and Corinne Kauffman took their final assignment to the next level, making a music video from the song “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore, and stuffing it full of calculus terms.
“We had to figure out how to fit math terms into the song,” said Kauffman — a task that wasn’t effortless.
