CCHS linksmen third in conference

May 27, 2014

Orchard Ridge Country Club with its fast greens and length presents a unique challenge to all golfers. Saturday that challenge became evident to Columbia City High School golf team members and the rest of the Northeast Hoosier Conference as the NHC Tournament and conference championship played out there.

The Eagles took third in the tournament with a team score of 332 that secured a solid overall finish in the NHC.

A Bellmont H.S. team that has been up and down for the season came through with a 325 for the tourney win, edging out Homestead’s 326. Second place in the tournament was good enough for the Spartans to take the overall title while Bellmont’s tournament win allowed them to take second place overall, with the Eagles third.
