COLUMBIA CITY â€” Columbia City High School senior, Michaela Thomas, will be competing at the state level of the Distinguished Young Women Program (DYW), formally known as Junior Miss. Thomasâ€™ name replaces 2011 winner, Cassandra Petrie.
Pamela Thompson, co-coordinator of the Whitley County franchise of the DYW, will join Thomas on her trip to Kokomo as she becomes the countyâ€™s 48th representative to attend the competition.
â€śShe is a joy to work with,â€ť said Thompson.
A send off party for will be held for Thomas at Columbia City High School this Friday at 3:30 p.m. Thomas will spend the week in Kokomo and return Feb. 26.
