A CENTURY TO BE CELEBRATED: Emanuel Geiger turns 100 on Jan. 16

Emanuel Geiger will be 100 years old Jan. 16, 2012.
On Sunday, Jan. 22, an open house will be held in his honor, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Churubusco Nazarene Church Christian Life Center, 1000 W. Whitley St., in Churubusco.

Geiger was born in Rome City on Jan. 16, 1912 to Emanuel A. and Matilda (McCoy) Geiger. He was the yougest of nine children.
Emanuel Geiger married Mabel M. (Cotton) April 17, 1929. She is deceased.
The Geigers had seven children: Bonnie Nicodemus, Gene and Paul Lee, of Churubusco; Melvin, deceased; Darlene Delanoy, of Columbia City; Junior, of Huntington; and DeLynn, of Warsaw.
He has 25 grandchildren, two of whom are deceased; 67 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-great-grandchildren.
