CES LEAVE: ’Busco principals resign

April 16, 2013

CHURUBUSCO — Both the principal and assistant principal of Churubusco Elementary School (CES) will resign at the end of the 2012-13 school year.

CES Principal Shellie Miller’s and CES Assistant Principal Nicole Veit’s resignations from their respective positions were accepted at the Monday meeting of the Smith-Green Community Schools Board of School Trustees.

“Together they made a really nice team,” said SGCS Superintendent Galen Mast. “They complemented each other very well. Both were high-energy and very relational when it came to the students. It was very difficult for both of them to tell me and make that decision to leave Churubusco.”

Miller and Veit will assume jobs as principals in other school districts for the 2013-14 school year. Miller will be working in the South Adams School District. Veit has been approved to become principal of Waterloo Elementary School in the DeKalb County Central United School District.
