Child air-lifted in Monday afternoon crash

COLUMBIA CITY - A three to four year old boy was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a single vehicle accident. The boy was air-lifted to a hospital in Fort Wayne and the driver, his mother, was transported by ambulance to Parkview Whitley with serious injuries.
According to Whitley County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Schmidt, the child was in the front seat, possibly causing more injury than if the car seat had been placed in the back.
