Christmas walk highlight

November 19, 2013

David and Renee Bauer’s home, located at 3426 E. Old Trail in Columbia City, is one of the homes featured in The Lighthouse Christmas Walk. The annual event will be Dec. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. and is held to raise funds for the nonprofit shelter. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased the day of the event at any of the homes on the walk. Pictured is some of the holiday decor which will be seen at the Bauer’s home, which was built in 1968. The home was originally owned by Doc Briggs, a local veterinarian, and was a horse farm. The property features a sign designating it as a site of Chief Little Turtle. In 2003, the Bauers purchased the home and have since made extensive renovations. As part of their Christmas decor, the Bauers have opted to include their love of travel. Ornaments and decorations from Switzerland, London, Germany and other foreign countries will be on display at this home.
