COLUMBIA CITY — Christopher J. Hardacre, 54, of Columbia City, passed away at 2:50 a.m. June 20, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after entering the hospital last week.
Mr. Hardacre was born March 31, 1957, a son of John Richard & Ruth E. (Miller) Hardacre, in Casper, Wyo.
He spent his childhood in Churubusco, moving to Columbia City just before the birth of his daughter Jessica.
He had been employed as an auto mechanic for much of his adult life.
The surviving relatives include his daughter Jessica Hardacre of Columbia City; his mother, Ruth Leitch of Columbia City; four sisters Ellen (Gary) Smith of Albion, Valeria (Jerry) Cheek of Auburn, Jeannette (Gary) Petelle of Churubusco, Vickie Leitch of Moore, Okla.; a brother, Scott (Debbie) Leitch of Churubusco; a half-sister Nancy Snodgrass of Andrews; two half-brothers, Robert (Kimberly) Hardacre of Huntington and Thomas Hardacre of Huntington; a special friend, Gloria Bess of Columbia City; and his granddaughter Mataya Cody of Columbia City.
At the request of Mr. Hardacre, there will be no services or calling hours
