CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco softball head coach Wayne Gibson didn’t have any seniors on his team last year.

The 2012 ‘Busco team still managed to compile a 11-16 record, while finishing 4-6 in the Northeast Corner Conference.

Last year’s Lady Eagles’ season ended in a close 2-1 loss in the first round of sectionals. The opponent that fell them: eventual 2012 2A state runner-up Adams Central.

“We felt we competed last year, and we feel we can compete in the conference and our sectional this year,” said the ‘Busco coach.

Besides one player transferring, Gibson’s 2013 team will look much like the 2012 squad.

Leading the way for the Lady Eagles this year will be five seniors, each having started for at least two seasons already for ‘Busco.
