City bounces back to split day at Valley

   AKRON — The Columbia City Eagles baseball team’s fortunes mirrored the weather Saturday – cold to start the day but much warmer in the afternoon.
   The Eagles fell 11-1 to the host Vikings in five innings in the opening game of the Tippecanoe Valley Super Saturday baseball tourney, but came back in the afternoon consolation game to down the Peru Tigers 17-6.
