City opens NHC play with 5-0 win

   DECATUR — The Columbia City softball team opened its Northeast Hoosier Conference schedule on the road Friday night and came away with a 5-0 win against the Bellmont Lady Squaws.
   The Lady Eagles scored five runs but were led on the mound by junior Cassie Vodde who struck out 15 batters and allowed four hits. Vodde also added two hits at the plate.
