March 4, 2011

COLUMBIA CITY — Police are on the lookout for a black 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck stolen from a residence on Holden Road sometime last night or this morning.
According to Columbia City Police Department Capt. Brian Anspach, reports of several vehicle break-ins, as well as two vehicle thefts, have occurred in the city since early evening Thursday with similar activity going back several days.
“In the past week or so, we’ve been having some reports of vehicles being entered,” Anspach said this morning.
According to Anspach, calls were received last night about residents’ vehicles being entered in the 300 block of North Elm Street.
At about 8 p.m. Thursday, a Ford pickup truck was stolen from a residence on Pinecrest Street. That truck was recovered this morning on South Columbia Parkway.
At about 6:30 this morning, the Dodge pickup was stolen at Holden Road.
Anspach said the truck is black and has a large decal in the back window.
