COLUMBIA CITY â€” Columbia City leaders are making plans for its annual trash day. The 2013 Columbia City trash pick up will be divided up into two weekends this year.
The city will be divided down Main Street. The west side of the city will be picked up Saturday, June 8 starting at 6 a.m. The east side of the city will be picked up Saturday, June 15 starting at 6 a.m. All trash will be picked up at curb side or alley.
The west side of the city includes any subdivisions that fall west of Ind. 9 (Main St.), such as Heritage Place/Chesapeake Landing, Wilkswood, Wood Dale, Deer Chase, etc. that are within city limits.
There will be no charge this year for the following items: tires, stoves, washers, dryers, hot water heaters, dish washers, refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers and batteries.
The above items will be picked up however, residents must call City Hall at 248-5100 to be placed on a list to have these items picked up.
Paint cans opened and dried will be picked up, but containers with paint in them will be left at the curb for the property owner to dispose of.
All trash must be placed out to the curb or alley before 6 a.m. the Saturday morning of the assigned day to assure pick up. There will be no return trips.
This trash pick up is one day only in the assigned area for regular trash.
