CITY TO TEST SIRENS IN STATEWIDE DRILL: Sunday begins Severe Weather and Flood Safety Week

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City will be joining the rest of Indiana Thursday in a statewide tornado siren test.

Gov. Mike Pence proclaimed March 16 to 22 as Severe Weather and Flood Safety Preparedness Week, and local officials are participating in statewide activities.

The National Weather Service, in conjunction with the Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Indiana Department of Education, Indiana Broadcasters Association and American Red Cross, will be conducting a complete test of communications systems Thursday morning at approximately 10:15 a.m., and also in the evening at approximately 7:30 p.m.
