December 18, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City officials have announced a revised trash pick up schedule during the holiday season.Due to Christmas Day and New Year’s Day trash pickup will fall one day later in the week.

Trash that would normally be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 25 will be serviced Thursday, Dec. 26. Trash pickup will continue to run a day behind with Friday’s service bumped to Saturday.

The following week, the schedule will be repeated — trash service will run a day behind starting with Thursday, Jan. 2. Both weeks will have trash pick up on Saturday.
Mondays’ and Tuesdays’ routes will remain the same. Additional trash can be included in normal pick up. However, residents will need to purchase a special trash bag for $1.26 at the City Utilities Office.

This specific bag can be placed next to the resident’s trash tote and collectors will know to include that bag with the regular service.
