Clarene Reid, 65, of Ligonier, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Goshen, to Clair W. and Phyllis A. (Bitner) Archer.
On Aug. 1, 1965, in Cromwell, she married Paul A. Reid, who survives in Ligonier.
She is also survived by her parents, Clair and Phyllis Archer of Cromwell; two daughters, Suzanne âSuzyâ Campbell of Ligonier and Regina (Tim) Yagel of Columbia City; a son, Stephen âSteveâ (Trisha) Reid of Albion; nine grandchildren, Skylar and Micheal Campbell, Tiffany (Scott) Brown, Kaylin, Jayna and TJ Yagel, Kendall âGooseâ Reid, Brodie and Peyton Miller; two great- grandchildren, Owen Fletcher and Evelyn Brown; a brother, Denzel (Mary Ann) Archer of Cromwell; a sister, Teresa Coverstone of Syracuse; and a sister in law, Dixie (Jack Madden) Reid of San Diego. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Chet and Irene Reid.
Clarene had owned and operated Reidâs Car Parts with her husband since 1978. She also owned and operated her own beauty salon for more than 30 years. Clarene loved to attend her grandchildrenâs activities and always put them first.
A funeral service will be held in Clareneâs honor at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767 on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Pastor John Lutton officiating. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, Noble County Fairgrounds or Whitley County Fairgrounds.
