Co-champions: Whitko downs Tippy Valley for share of TRC title

SOUTH WHITLEY ­ — Whitko’s football squad rebounded from its first Three Rivers Conference loss last week to down Tippecanoe Valley and takes its share of the TRC title.

The Wildcats fell to Rochester last week, pitting a three-way tie in the TRC, with Whitko, Rochester and Tippecanoe Valley all posting 5-1 conference records.

This week, the Wildcats took on and Tippy Valley, 35-21, to share the TRC title with Rochester, which beat North Miami Friday.

Whitko took the momentum from the get-go.

On Tippy Valley’s first possession, the Wildcat defense forced a fourth down and punt — which was blocked.
