Col. City to face tough Spartans

September 12, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City earned a win in its football conference opener last week against Bellmont.

Now, the Eagles, who are 2-1, have to face the team that has dominated the Northeast Hoosier Conference for the past few seasons when they travel to Homestead.

The 3-0 Spartans have either tied for first or finished first in the conference every year since 2007.

Last week, Columbia City opened its conference schedule with a 41-28 win over Bellmont. Homestead beat East Noble, 17-14 last week.

The Eagles fell to the Spartans in 2012, 41-6.

Columbia City’s most recent win against Homestead was in 1994, when the Eagles won 47-21.
