Col. City golf wins second straight

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s golf team won its second match in two days Thursday night, topping Leo by a 159-171 score.

Freshmen Eagles Tyler Green and Spencer Klimek were co-medalists, scoring 37 apiece.

Green shot a birdie on Eagle Glen’s No. 2 hole, a par 3. Klimek didn’t have more than five strokes through the entire front nine, including a three on hole No. 7.

Columbia City’s Cameron Slavich outdid Klimek on hole 7, scoring a two to help him to a total of 44.

Max Dryer finished with a 41 for the Eagles. Rounding off Columbia City’s varsity scores were Trent Murphy (48) and Matt Benedict (49).
Leo didn’t have a linkster score below 40.

With the win, Columbia City’s varsity evens its record at 4-4.
