Col. City pummels Lady Wildcats, 18-1

April 13, 2013

SOUTH WHITLEY — Columbia City’s softball team traveled to Whitko Friday evening to pick up its first win of the season — in prime fashion — with an 18-1 win.

After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Eagles tacked on three runs in the second frame.

Columbia City scored six more in the third, and nine in the fifth and final inning to make the score 18-1 with 13 hits.

“We finally hit the ball like we wanted,” Columbia City Head Coach Steve Cox said.

Winning pitcher Krysten Van Houten had nine strike-outs with no walks.
