Col. City routs Whitko in sectional

Columbia City girl’s tennis team defeated Whitko in the second round of sectionals last night with a team score of 4-1.

No. 1 singles player, Rachel Flauding was the only loss, but played a very close match.

The score was tied in the first two sets 6-2, 2-6.

Then in the tie breaker game, she fell to her opponent 2-6.

No. 2 singles player Aubrey Wright won her match with a score of 6-1, 6-0.

Katie Doerhmann defeated her Wildcat opponent 6-0, 6-0.

No. 1 doubles team Macie Hinen and Sydney Ford won with a score of 6-1, 6-0.

Cassie Bosselman and Bayley Smith, playing at No. 2 doubles also won their match 6-2, 6-0.

The Lady Eagles move on to play in the sectional championship tonight playing Warsaw at Warsaw.
