Col. City takes third in NHC

May 6, 2013

NEW HAVEN — Columbia City’s girls track team placed third at the Northeast Hoosier Conference meet Friday night at New Haven.

Carroll and Bellmont paced the conference, definitively taking first and second place.

The Lady Chargers scored 147 points to lead the NHC, while Bellmont was close behind with 131.5.

Columbia City came in third out of the eight conference schools.

Carlee Hearld was named 1st-Team All-NHC in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 4 inches — her personal best jump.

“So many girls had either personal bests or season bests,” Columbia City Head Coach Bob Fahl said. “A coach can’t ask for much more than that at the end of the season. The weather cooperated and the girls really stepped up. The girls did very well.”
