COLUMBIA CITY â€” Despite rallying to get the score within five in the last four minutes, Churubusco lost to Columbia City Tuesday night, 52-43.

Whitley Countyâ€™s Eagles gave the fans their moneyâ€™s worth, with Churubusco cutting a 25-17 deficit into a three-point game in the third quarter.
The Eagles traded baskets in the first two minutes of the game, until Columbia Cityâ€™s Brandon Gay knocked down a three to give the home team a 5-4 advantage.
Churubuscoâ€™s game plan was to alter the pace of Columbia Cityâ€™s quick tempo.
â€śWe needed to slow the game down,â€ť Churubusco Head Coach Mike McBride said. â€śThey have too many shooters. We had to make them play defense. We were trying to make them play at our pace.â€ť
