Columbia City boys basketball beats Northfield

December 3, 2011

Columbia City's Drew Benedict added nine points for the Eagles.

DENVER — Had it not been for a second quarter momentum shift, the outcome of Columbia City’s boys basketball game at Northfield may have been different.
The Eagles came off a 13-6 first-quarter deficit to out-score the Norsemen 26-2 in the second quarter and win 66-43.
“We allowed them to play in their comfort zone in the first quarter,” Columbia City Head Coach Chris Benedict said. “In the second quarter we started to pressure them with a full court press.”
Derek Hinen had 17 first-half points and shot 84.6 percent from the field. Hinen also led the team in assists with eight, steals with three and 24 total points.
