COLUMBIA CITY â Warsaw proved that even the best of teams can be beaten.
Columbia City, ranked in the Associated Press and Indiana Coaches Association polls, as well as semi-state qualifier last season, was taken down by the Tigers Saturday night.
The Eaglesâ 28-17 lead in the second quarter turned into a four-point loss, 63-59, in Columbia Cityâs home-opener.
âThe good news is, weâre pretty good. The bad news is, (we think) weâre pretty good,â Columbia City Head Coach Chris Benedict said. âWe let them back in the game and it deflated our momentum. Itâs frustrating.â
Warsaw started the game with an 8-2 lead that Drew Benedict quickly turned around after a 3-pointer, a steal for a lay-up and another three from at least four feet behind the arc to tie the score at 10.
