Columbia City girls handed 58-41 loss by Concordia

December 22, 2011

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s girls basketball team suffered its fourth consecutive loss to Concordia.
The Lady Eagles’ two-point lead at the end of the first quarter turned into a 17-point loss on their home court Wednesday night.
“That first quarter was the best first quarter we’ve played,” Columbia City Head Coach Amy Shearer said.
The Lady Cadets, who are ranked fourth in Class 3A by the Associated Press, outscored Columbia City 23-7 in the second quarter to take the lead — and never looked back.
“They’re a quality ball club,” Shearer said. “Teams don’t get votes for the AP poll if they’re not good.”
Concordia’s Olivia Hahn hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter, helping the Lady Cadets to a 36-22 lead at halftime.
