COLUMBIA CITY â Columbia Cityâs golf team hosted and lost to Northeast Hoosier Conference foe East Noble Tuesday night at Eagle Glen.
East Nobleâs Michael Sharp fired a one-over par as the matchâs medalist with a 37, leading the Knights to the 160-176 win. The visitors posted three scores under 40.
The courseâs ninth hole was again a problem for the Eagles, who posted three double bogeys and a triple.
âWe havenât played our home course very well,â Columbia City Head Coach Andrew Thompson said. âIn all reality, 16 shots werenât going to be made up in the ninth hole.â
Max Dryer led Columbia City with a 41. Drew Benedict, who played his first match of the season after wrist surgery, was the Eaglesâ second-best linkster Tuesday, shooting a 44. Teammate Drew Burnsworth wasnât far behind with a 45.
Derek Philbee shot a 46 and Dustin Parrett was Columbia Cityâs fifth varsity golfer with a 47.
The Eagles are now 1-9 and 0-5 in the conference. East Noble is 2-3 in the NHC.View more articles in:
