COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Board of Commissioners had a full slate of business in front of them when they met last week following the holiday. Several contracts and permits for construction were among the items discussed.
A previously discussed contract to renew with the facility used to house juvenile inmates that was tabled while wording was changed has been signed.
Whitley County Attorney Dan Sigler found a similar issue in a potential contract with Logo, a company whose system allows for checks to come through electronically for the recently discussed certificate sale being held in the spring.
The commissioners reviewed and approved five utility payments to lay buried cable, all requested by CenturyLink:
• Along CR 200 N. to CR 250 W. on N. Linconway Road; W. Lincolnway Road from CR 250 W. to CR 450 W.; CR 450 W. to 550 W.; CR 150 E. from SR 205 to a nearby AT&T cellular tower site; from Washington, south on Meridian Road to CR 400 S., east to SR 9.
The next commissioners meeting will be Feb. 6.
