COOKIN' UP COMPETITIVE SUPPORT: The Center’s annual cook off slated for Thurs., April 10

March 6, 2014

Pictured is the newly renovated youth facility, The Center for Whitley County Youth. The space now features a concessions bar, new paint and windows, booths and new seating, and a remodeled stage area. A cook off will be held April 10 to help raise money for operation costs for the nonprofit.

COLUMBIA CITY — In five weeks, community members will unite in a cook-off competition to benefit teens.

Each year The Center for Whitley County Youth holds a dinner like no other. Calm buffet lines are traded in for four teams to do battle in the kitchen. Their weapons — tongs and ingredients. Their reward — money and awareness raised for The Center.

This year’s cook off will be held Thursday, April 10 at First Church of God. The event will start at 6:15 p.m., and the dinner is served for a freewill donation.
