COLUMBIA CITY â€” Many are familiar with the three levels of snow emergencies, but that is a system of the past.
In 2012, Whitley Countyâ€™s Commissioners signed an ordinance that dismissed the Level I, Level II and Level III snow emergencies, and replaced them with â€śtravel advisories.â€ť
Whitley County wasnâ€™t alone in the change over, as much of the rest of Indiana has come together for a more unified program.
â€śIt makes it a lot easier when weâ€™re all on the same system,â€ť said Cathy Broxon-Ball, director of Whitley Countyâ€™s Emergency Management Agency.
