COUNTY BURN BAN: Currently lifted

Today, the Whitley County Fire Chiefs Association recommended to the Whitley County Commissioners to lift the county wide ban of open burning and fireworks at this time. Due to recent rain and improving conditions they feel the ban can be lifted, but conditions will still be closely monitored. If conditions deteriorate again, or do not continue to improve, the ban may have to be put back in to effect. All county residents are asked to use consideration and caution when burning.
