COLUMBIA CITY — Wood-Land-Lakes, a nonprofit group working across several counties in the state, had a request for funds approved by the Whitley County Commissioners Monday.
The commissioners approved $400 for the group. Stanley Crum, a board member for Wood-Land-Lakes, was on hand, and told commissioners all his organization does, how they are trying to stay in budget, and reach out to stakeholders.
“Wood-Land-Lakes can’t disappear,” he said. “It is the holder of almost 10,000 acres of agriculture preservation land easements.”
The decision unanimously passed.
In other business, the commissioners heard a funding request from Whitley County Sheriff Mark Hodges for a new computer that runs the card reader at the department.
