IN COURT: Hicks pleads guilty to meth charges

COLUMBIA CITY — A man who was arrested in a Whitley County Drug Task Force bust at Miami Village in January admitted his guilt to aiding in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Gary D. Hicks, 39, of Columbia City, pleaded guilty Monday as part of an agreement with the state, to the charge, which is a Class B felony.

An additional charge against Hicks of visiting a common nuisance will be dismissed after sentencing.

All other aspects of Hicks’ sentence, which could be from six to 20 years, will be at the court’s discretion.

The sentencing date will be March 31.
