IN COURT: Two suspects appear in court for burglary

May 29, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — Two men arrested over the weekend for attempted burglary had their first appearance in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday.

William Ward-Bey, 60, of Gary, and Anthony Allen, 54, of Fort Wayne, both pleaded not guilty to attempted burglary, a Class C felony.

Ward-Bey will be represented by Whitley County Public Defender Brad Voelz. Allen said he plans to hire his own attorney.

Both men were arrested Thursday. Case reports indicate the men were allegedly involved in an attempted break-in at Gendel Low-Bob, LLC, on Frontage Road.
