CRASH: Friday night collision between motorcyle, SUV, injures three

COLUMBIA CITY — A woman was critically injured and two others were hurt Friday night in a crash in front of Dairy Queen in Columbia City.

According to police, a sports utility vehicle was stopped in the left northbound lane of Main Street in front of Dairy Queen when a motorcycle with two occupants hit the back of the SUV at approximately 9:42 p.m.

Blake Miller, 22, of Columbia City was the driver of the motorcycle and was transported by ambulance to Parkview Whitley Hospital. His passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV, Jennifer Drake, 33, of Columbia City, was treated at the scene.

The crash completely shut down both directions of traffic on Main Street for nearly an hour.

The collision remains under investigation by the Columbia City Police Department.

The CCPD was assisted by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department and the Columbia City Fire Department.
