COLUMBIA CITY â€” Heavy winds in a quick storm left extensive damage at a local golf course.
Crooked Lake Golf Course had several branches down, along with one tree, after a storm blew through Wednesday evening.
Even more miraculous, according to course owner Bill Schumaker, is that no one was injured.
â€śThe worst part was that we had guys on the course in a cart have a top of a tree fall on them while they were in the cart,â€ť he said. â€śThe cart was totaled, but they were fine.â€ť
Schumaker said he could not believe the men survived.
â€śWe were actually very fortunate,â€ť he said. â€śHow they didnâ€™t get killed â€” I donâ€™t know, and had they been sitting a couple of feet further to the east, they might have.â€ť
