COLUMBIA CITY — For most women, visiting the salon means they leave the chair looking better than before. Wednesday, women not only looked good, but felt good as their haircuts went for a good cause.
Candi Martinez is a stylist at Fabulous Hair and Nails in Columbia City. The salon joined forces with hair care manufacturer Sexy Hair in a haircut marathon. Since October is breast cancer awareness month, Sexy Hair enlisted more than 875 salons across the U.S. to participate in the marathon.
The event raised money for nonprofit organization Look Good...Feel Better, a self-help beauty charity dedicated to improving the self-image of cancer patients.
Haircuts went for $10 and Sexy Hair donated travel-sized products for those choosing to take part in the event.
Holly Timms was one of the many sit under the scissors Wednesday. Timms said she usually gets her hair cut at Fabulous Hair and Nails, but this cut was for a good cause.
At the time of publication, Sexy Hair reported $62,543.57 was raised.
