CUTTING EDGE: Local businessman receives entrepreneurship award

FORT WAYNE — A Whitley County businessman received an award for entrepreneurship by Indiana’s lieutenant governor during a ceremony at the State Capitol.
Jeff Johnson, owner and president of Numerix, Inc. in Columbia City, was one of two area business leaders who were presented with Economic Development through Growth and Entrepreneurship (EDGE) Awards in a ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse.
Johnson was awarded in the Established Business category, while Lisa Compton from Second Steps, LLC, in Fort Wayne, received an award in the Emerging Business category.
The awards were presented by Lt. Governor Becky Skillman in partnership with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network. A total of 18 Hoosier businesses were recognized during the Statehouse ceremony.
