David Lee Sible 58, a resident of Wolf Lake, was fatally injured at 6:15 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, when the motorcycle he was operating ran into the back of sport utility vehicle north of Churubusco on U.S. 33.
He was born in Fort Wayne on Dec. 30, 1953, a son of Robert and Elsie (Bacon) Sible.
His formative years were spent on a farm in the Huntertown area. He was educated in Huntertown and Carroll High School and completed his education in a diesel mechanics trade school.
He spent most of his adult life in Whitley and Noble counties and for the past three years, has resided in Wolf Lake. He farmed on several different farms and had been employed as a semi-driver for various companies. He also had been employed at the Holmes Lumber Company in Columbia City for several years. Recently, he started his employment with the Fort Wayne Truck and Auto Auction.
He was a member of the Escort Motorcycle Club.
Surviving relatives include a son, David L, Sible Jr. of Peru; two daughters, Diana L. Sible of Hardin, Mont. and Debbie L. Sible of Brainerd, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and a sister, Cheryl (Leroy) Schaefer of Fort Wayne.
The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with the service beginning at 3 p.m. Following the funeral home rites, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Escort Motorcycle Club House on U.S. 33, north of Wolf Lake.
