Deborah Halsey, 40

Deborah Ann Halsey, 40, of Columbia City, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at her parents’ home. She had been battling cancer.
She was born March 2, 1971, in Columbia City, a daughter of Lonnie and Barbara (Wade) Halsey. As the daughter of a United States Air Force member, her formative years were spent in Germany, California and Nebraska before returning to Indiana. She completed her GED in 1985 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in general studies from IPFW.
She was formerly employed by Precision Plastics and the New China Restaurant, Columbia City.
Besides her parents, she leaves behind two daughters, Peyton Halsey and Cierra Halsey, both of Columbia City; a boyfriend, James A. Jubinville, Jr; a sister, Stephanie (Shawn) Pierce, Loon Lake; a brother, Timothy Halsey, Columbia City; grandmother, Dorothy Wade of Columbia City; three aunts and five uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harold Wade and a nephew, Michael Pierce.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
