DELAY OF GAME: Dunham’s to open later than expected

COLUMBIA CITY — Delays in the game happen in commercial real estate as well as football, there just is not a penalty assessed.

Dunham’s Sports will open in Columbia City, just not on the original timetable.

It was announced in January that the Michigan-based sporting goods company would be coming to Columbia City to occupy the former Scott’s building.

The projected opening was in late May or early June, but that has been pushed back.

“It took us a little longer to get the closing to acquire the property,” said Jeff Kerr of Kerr Real Estate, the company that bought the property from Kroger. “Truthfully, these kinds of things happen all of the time in our business.”
