Dep. Prosecutor Sigler takes on Huntington Co. case

January 29, 2014

HUNTINGTON — Whitley County Deputy Prosecutor D.J. Sigler was appointed to take on a high-profile Huntington County case this week.

Tuesday, police arrested Joseph Rakoczy, Huntington County’s chief environmental sanitarian, after he was accused of using his county credit card to purchase $25 in gas for her personal vehicle, according to the Indiana State police.

Sigler was chosen to take the case to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest with Huntington County Prosecutor Amy Richison.

ISP Public Information Officer Ron Galaviz said in October, 2013, the Huntington County auditor noticed the charged on Rakoczy’s credit card and reported it to police.
