DIFFERENCE MAKER: Childress: Rookie year ends on a high note

March 31, 2014

CHURUBUSCO — A new director for Churubusco Junior-Senior High School’s show choir New Era, has seen much success in his first year.

New directors have been a trend for New Era, as there have been four directors in the past four years.

This year is the first with Mr. Aaron Childress as director. Under the helm of Childress, the show choir has had a season to remember.

Among the highlights was a Grand Champion win at Homestead High School’s invitational this year.

While much success has come in the first year with Childress, the new director himself said there were several circumstances that led to a great 2013-14 season.

“They had a great year building last year, I think I came in at the right time,” he said. “It’s the right mix of people. The community is incredibly supportive, and wants to see the students do well.”
