Donald Lienerth, 81

COLUMBIA CITY — Donald M. Lienerth, 81, of rural Columbia City, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at his home.
He was born April 2, 1930, in Saginaw, Mich., a son of John and Sophia (Artz) Lienerth.
During the Korean War, he served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne of the U.S. Army.
In August, 1952, he married Dora Lee Payne. She died in 1999.
Survivors include five children, David Lienerth of Westfield, Diane Hurst of Columbia City, Donna Lienerth of Indianapolis, Denise Sheetz of Columbia City and Daniel Lienerth of Diamondale, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Randolph of California.
The service will be March 3 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Grand Rapids, Mich.
Preferred memorials are to American Heart Fund.
