COLUMBIA CITY â Funding is in jeopardy for one of Whitley Countyâs nonprofit organizations. Interfaith Mission, Inc., also known as The Lighthouse, provides transitional housing to those in need in Whitley County.
In 2013, the housing program served 63 individuals and provided housing, food, supplies, transportation and other supportive services. For the annual budget, 54 percent of The Lighthouseâs funds come from grants â in addition to 16 percent which comes from local grants.

Who knows what the future holds for the grants we have been depending on for so long. Weâve already been told that one grant wonât be offered much longer.â
