SOUTH WHITLEY — With a ground-breaking ceremony held in May, the west side of the South Whitley Town Park has transformed into a colorful playground as Doodlebug Village (Phase I) was completed on Friday. Irving Gravel Co., Fort Wayne, placed pea gravel in the village on Friday to complete the first phase. In the future, Adventure Mania (Phase II) will be located on the east side of the park with a fire truck and swings to be incorporated into the play section. Scott Weekly, with Irving Gravel, and South Whitley utility employee Ron Anderson were on site as the pea gravel was unloaded.
