Dorothy E. Londt, 84, a lifelong resident of Noble County, died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010.
She was born Sept. 16, 1925 in Noble Township, Noble County a daughter of Hayes and Ruth L. (Snyder) Walker. She graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
On Feb. 20, 1944 she was united in marriage to Howard E. Londt. They made their home in Texas until 1945 when she returned to Noble County to reside while Howard served in the U.S. Army Infantry overseas. Following World War II, they made their home in the Wolf Lake community and began farming. Mr. Londt died Aug. 17, 2000.
She was employed at Weatherhead for several years.
Her memberships included Cornerstone Wesleyan Church and a former member of Noble Senior Club.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Edward E. (Mary Jane) Londt of Huntertown and Dennis R. (Susan) Londt of Muncie; a daughter, Peggy C. (Chris) Wegenka of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Vern Walker of Fort Wayne.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Walker and Roscoe Walker; and two sisters, an infant and Lurahbelle Gray.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, 4304 S. Oak Street, Merriam with visitation after 9:30 a.m. at the church. The burial will be in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
Visitation will also be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
