Downtown Association garners nod from state

April 11, 2014

COLUMBIA CITY — “What you have here is wonderful,” said Shae Kmicikewycz during her visit to Columbia City’s downtown Thursday.

She was in the city to present the Columbia City Main Street Association (CCMSA) with an official certificate signifying its accomplishment in meeting the state’s requirements for joining the Indiana Main Street (IMS) Program.

Kmicikewycz is the program manager for the IMS, and represents Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann.

“Your downtown is unique,” Kmicikewycz said. “It’s what you have in the heart of your city that makes you so great.”

Alan Tio, president of Whitley County Economic Development Corporation, also applauded the Main Street group.
